OASIS E1-Functional Scores, Hospitalization Risk, and Cognition

Accurate OASIS coding is essential for all home health clinicians due to the impact that coding has on reimbursement. With the CMS plan to move to a universaloutcome measure for all post-acute settings, OASIS will become an important tool beyond home health. Payment through PDGM is driven not only by improvement of quality indicators but through a complicated calculation of risk adjustment driven by baseline functional scores, acute cognitive changes, and hospitalization risk. This course will provide easy to use methods that will improve a clinician's ability to provide accurate coding to these sections of OASIS E1.
