All children face many challenges today. These challenges are continually changing in our world, affecting learning, gross and fine motor development, and problem- solving skills. Understanding the mind-body connection and the relationship between learning and movement is crucial for improving a child's school performance and functional abilities. Children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder(ADHD), self-regulation, sensory processing, and stress- related disorders face even greater challenges. A clear understanding of the specific brain differences with these disorders and their implications is essential for successful interventions.
This course will teach participants to improve brainfunction as it relates to learning in children with sensory challenges. Drawing upon the most up to date brainresearch, this workshop will provide a thorough understanding of the brain's impact on a child's success. Participants will learn the significance of the mind-body connection, and how to set up brain neurochemistry for the most effective learning and best performance. Participants will leave this workshop with strategies that can be implemented immediately in the classroom and therapy settings.
The content of this program is germane to children, students and clients ages 0-18 years old

great course, very useful information for working in pediatrics. i think the only thing that was frustrating was the video would not save my spot, so for example, if i lost internet access or had to connect to different wifi, and the video would just start from the beginning once i reconnected.

she gave lots of great physical demonstrations, not always easily viewed since camera at back of the room, with many people in front of the presenter

i really appreciate all the videos the instructor included demonstrating the beanbag, clapping and ball activities.

i believe these treatment activities are better suited for higher level children. it's almost impossible to us these for early intervention kiddos. i also felt that there was a bit of bias in this lecture that felt one-sided.
