Additional Information

Children with and without existing diagnoses are presenting with sensory and motor challenges due to persistent primitive reflexes. These children present with coordination, balance, and motor challenges that influence their ability to fully engage in meaningful play. Due to theinfluence on motor development, the presence of reflexes also influences a child's ability to fully participate in their home and school environments.

This relevant course emphasizes the need to evaluatethe presence of reflexes, motor development, and sensory differences to develop an effective plan of treatment. Various hands-on opportunities to trial assessment tools and intervention strategies will be provided. We will also discuss the best practices for documenting treatment to support highimpact interventions and illustrate the need for therapy services. This course is designed for physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech-language pathologists who work with children to develop additional solutions to influence motor development and skill acquisition.

*Hands on lab will be modified for Web based delivery formats into recorded demonstrations

thank you for a great course

i feel that the title of this course is misleading. while reflex integration was discussed, i feel that motor learning and sensory processing were equally covered. while i appreciate the connection between the three, i did not get the deep dive into reflex integration that i was expecting.

it was very good. being able to see her full body at times would have helped to see the action she was describing. but i did use my phone which made things smaller.

when the instructor demonstrated things on her screen, you often could not see all of what she was trying to show in the screen. she was too close to the camera to see everything.

i feel it would have been helpful to see videos of the reflexes retained at different levels. also more actual simple exercises and activities as opposed to protocols to integrate.
