Additional Information

Evidence-based practice in the school setting is not only essential to best practice, but also required by law. Research (Nichols, 2017) shows when practitioners attended an evidence-based practice workshop their knowledge, comfort, and implementation of evidence-based evaluations and treatments improved substantially. This course will review evidence-based practice for therapists and the laws governing the use of evidence-based practice treatments in the school setting. At the end of this course, clinicians will beable to discern the value of evidence in a step-by-stepmethod. Attendees will demonstrate confidence in the evidence-based evaluations and treatments they arechoosing and endorsing to their school districts.

Target Audience: Physical Therapists, Physical Therapist Assistants, Occupational Therapists, Occupational Therapy Assistants, Speech-Language Pathologists

it seemed like this course was heavily geared toward ots. the case example was only ot related. i would have liked more discussion on searching various sites for evidence for a variety of topics.

Ann (OH) on Jan 29, 2026

was hoping for more of a current discussion on what are some best practices for evidenced based interventions in the schools. not a lengthy discussion of how a well established standardized test is evidenced based.
