Incidence of hypotonia in children is increasing across the United States and frequently affects a child's fine and gross motor development. It may also cause feeding and speech difficulties. As therapists, we know it is imperative to provide effective, hands-on strategies to children for them to make quick, successful functional gains. Immediately after taking this course, the therapist will feel more confident and comfortable treating a child with hypotonia and maximize a child's overall development with improved treatment options for this condition.

instructor talked about the same things over and over again. she talked about typically needing an x-ray and low tone kids which would not necessarily be standard of practice. she talked about them going to the doctor monthly as an infant instead of just talking about their typical well checks. when she would say things about when they achieve certain milestones, it would change from sentence to sentence.

first course in a a very long time that focused heavily on intervention strategies rather than theory, research, or stating what "to do" without showing you. also she was very true to reality showing videos of things she tried that clearly did not work and showing how a real therapy session goes.
