Behavioral and psychological symptoms affect up to 90% of individuals with dementia and are a leading cause of functional decline, caregiver burden, and institutionalization. In rehabilitation settings, unmanaged behaviors can limit participation, delay progress, and negatively impact outcomes and reimbursement. Clinicians must address both physical and behavioral barriers to optimize care.
This course equips clinicians with practical, evidence- based strategies to assess, interpret, and manage behavioralsymptoms. Through case-based learning and real-world application, participants will learn how to modifyenvironments, adapt communication, and implement interventions that improve function, safety, and engagement.
