According to Alzheimer's Disease International, "someone in the world develops dementia every 3 second" (n.d., ph. 1). This is an astounding number and highlights the likelihood of healthcare practitioners serving this unique population during our careers. This course aims to demystify the workings of each stage of dementia and develop clinical confidence in being able to not only make a positive impact on these clients but also be able to support the caregivers. We will explore activities, mobility, and communication at each dementia stage and apply current best-practice approaches to care so we can keep our patients functional and active in the thingsthey love most.
