Additional Information

Senior Healthcare is a multi-billion-dollar industry with constantly rising costs. In order to help control expenditure, the federal government is making ongoing changes to regulatory processes of health care entities. This includes managed care organizations, Bundle Payments for Care Improvement and other similar programs that were designed to ensure the efficacy and accountability of healthcare service delivery. Therefore, therapists who work in geriatric settings are now held to even higher standards to ensure that services are medically necessary through treatment interventions and skilleddocumentation.

This innovative workshop provides a contemporary approach to therapy service provision that will help to maximize outcomes in any geriatric setting without fancy equipment. Attendees will also learn how to communicate these outcomes by composing individualized, holistic treatment plans, setting realistic, functional goals, and writing dailyand weekly progress reports that will demonstrate medical necessity and prevent denials.

Target Audience: Physical Therapists, Physical Therapist Assistants, Occupational Therapists, Occupational Therapy Assistants, Speech-Language Pathologists
