Additional Information

Lifestyle-driven diseases present significant challenges in clinical settings, contributing to a spectrum of debilitating conditions among older patients. Backed by robust statistical evidence, this course offers a comprehensive overview of these diseases, highlighting the urgency for proactive lifestyle interventions in clinical practice. By delving into evidence- based practices in lifestyle medicine, health practitioners will be empowered with the knowledge and tools necessary to deliver holistic care, addressing not only the symptoms but also the root causes of age-related health issues. Through this exploration, we aim to foster a proactive approach to healthcare among healthcare professionals, ultimately promoting healthier aging outcomes for their patients.

92% of lifetime health is determined by habits of daily living. Genetic and transgenerational influences on health account for the remaining 8%. This course will guide the attendees to be able to make simple though healthier choicesin the form of nutrition and exercise. Well-researched self-assessments and predictive biomarker tests will be discussedthat, when interpreted to best outcome goal value, give a personalized assessment of all epigenetics. This will allow participants to apply these techniques to enhance patient care with personalized approaches that improve longevity and quality of life.

the instructor was extremely knowledgable and presented very well. my issue with this course is that the information was not user-friendly for the standard clinician who has no background in formal nutrition training (which is most of us, speaking as a pt of 38 years). she presented information more applicable for our personal management rather than information that we could apply to our patients. was way more in-depth than most pts can incorporate into a standard pt session. she should have broken it down in a way that made it easier to apply across the spectrum.

very motivating speaker! the genetics stuff was way over my head and not sure of the value of all that in this class. i would have liked some practical videos showing non athletes. also, how to communicate gently with older adults who don't 'buy into' exercise and other lifestyle changes. the speaker's perspective would be especially useful.
