Executive dysfunction is characterized by difficulty in planning, organizing, initiating, sequencing, problem solving, and using complex attention and memory during functional tasks. Current research confirms that executive dysfunction leads to more difficulty in navigating novel and familiar daily life tasks, (Ene et al., 2025). While executive dysfunction is a pervasive barrier in a person's life that has a neurologicaldiagnosis, it also becomes a barrier in full participation in rehabilitation. Rehabilitation patients with executive dysfunction demonstrate difficulty learning new skills, accepting and incorporating feedback, initiating tasks, and complying with home exercise programs. Additionally, motivation for rehabilitation can be fleeting in patients that exhibit executive dysfunction. In essence, executive dysfunction is a challenge for rehabilitation therapists to conquer to document progress and ensure goal completion. This course will provide ecologically based assessments for occupational therapists, physical therapists, and speech therapists to confirm executive dysfunction. Evidence-based and practical interventions and strategies will be highlighted to address the executive dysfunction. Incorporating theeasy-to-use interventions and strategies will allow patients to achieve their goals of improved occupational performance, mobility, and communication. Skills learned in this webinar can be utilized by occupational therapists, occupational therapy assistances, physical therapists, physical therapy assistants, and speech-language pathologists to turn dreadedsessions into successful sessions. Learning will be enhancedby case studies to allow for translation of skills into next day occupational therapy, physical therapy, and/or speech therapy sessions.
