Breast cancer accounts for 15.5% of all new cases of cancer and is the leading cancer diagnosis in women. The survival rate continues to improve with a 5-year survival rate of 91.2%, meaning more patients are living with a history of cancer and the impacts of cancer related treatment. Rehabilitation plays an important role in the adjuvant setting due to the wide range of treatments and acute/long term sideeffects of these treatments.
This workshop will examine the rehabilitation therapist'srole throughout the breast cancer medical course including post-operatively and throughout adjuvant care. Case examples will be presented including protocols and standardsof practice in the outpatient setting. Once complete the learner will be familiar with types of adjuvant care, commonside effects as well as rehabilitation implications for each withappropriate rehabilitation treatment options.
Target Audience: Physical Therapists, Physical Therapist Assistants, Occupational Therapists, Occupational Therapy Assistants

i did have some trouble with the audio cutting out at times. i am unsure if others had this issue, or it was on my end alone. i did frequently refresh the page, but also had to log out\/back in on approximately 3 occasions during the live webinar.

felt that acronyms used could have been better defined. also, given the scope and complexity of the material presented it seems a three hour class would be better.
