Clinicians and assistants did not go to therapy school to learn to write notes. Unfortunately, clinical documentation is an essential part of every OT, PT, or SLP visit. Anecdotal evidence and observation suggest that many therapists are documenting how they learned in school, whether that was 1 or 20 years ago. This course explores the current requirements of traditional restorative therapy and contrasts with the little-understood necessities of maintenance therapy. Clinicians will explore the art and science of compliant clinicaldocumentation in the therapy world.
Target Audience: Physical Therapists, Physical Therapist Assistants, Occupational Therapists, Occupational Therapy Assistants, Speech-Language Pathologists

this course should not be listed for slp. this course was heavily focused on pt and ot aspects of medicare billing and rarely went into slp. the slp documentation aspect should be taught by an slp and focused on differences between adults, geriatrics, vs. pediatrics.

too heavily focused on 'maintenance therapy' topic and too focused on scenarios more relevant to pt\/ot than to slp.

as a slp, some of the examples were hard to follow as they were more ot and pt based. i learn best through examples, so a few things were a bit confusing since i didn't have as many slp examples.

-camera angle was distracting - speaker was good at stopping to answer questions along the way on the live version (we watched the video recording) - speaker uses "um" and "ah" a lot

found it interesting that the instructor who stated he performed audits on notes did not know the code for medicare maintenance therapy.
