Education about eating disorders and disordered eating is rarely provided in professional education, yet these conditions are prevalent in our client and patient populations. "Health" looks different for each individual, and sometimes in our attempts to aid our patients or clients, we can unintentionally reinforce or trigger disordered eating behaviors. In addition, we may be the first to identify a concern, as eating disorders are mental health conditions that are often secretive and fly under the radar. This course will provide education to promote improved understanding of the continuum betweendisordered eating and eating disorders, different types of eating disorders, medical complications, psychological and social manifestations, signs and symptoms, and potential resources and referrals when concerns arise for a client or patient. Weight stigma will also be explored as it relates to and shows up in rehabilitation and exercise environments.
