Additional Information

Many educational courses focus primarily on the neurological processes involved in rehabilitation following a neurological injury. However, one component that is frequently not covered adequately is what steps are necessary to retrain a patient to do the functional tasks ofeveryday living. How many sets and reps of exercises does research currently support, how should treatment be progressed to ensure that physical overload is avoided but progress towards functional task recovery is made? This course covers these topics as well as functional treatment options that you can implement tomorrow to begin assisting your patients in reclaiming their ability to complete daily functional tasks!

This course will instruct clinicians in developing current treatment plans based on research trends to assist patients in beginning the journey towards functional task recovery following a neurological injury. Upon completion of this course, clinicians will be able to develop an initial plan of care with functional task recovery goals and progress this plan of care through successful completion of task recovery based on a variety of neurological injury types. Additionally, this course will instruct clinicians on the proper techniques forbreaking a complex functional task in smaller segments to progress the patients motor planning and motor control.

for acute care, i dont think these frequencies are doable. 90 min in one session for 5 days a week. i understand seeking high reps, but not sure how feasible in acute care.
