Additional Information

The average life expectancy, perception of thriving, and average proportion of time spent in good health has declinedsince COVID-19. During the same time-period, rates of obesity and diabetes have reached all-time highs. Mental health has also been negatively affected with cases of anxiety and depression sharply rising over the past several years. These and many other poor health metrics across the United States negatively impact the recovery of physical and occupational therapy patients with musculoskeletal disorders.

This course will arm health care professionals with the tools to assess and address the many drivers of pain and functional disability using an evidence-based, holistic approach. Clinicians who apply the information from this course will not only see patients meet their functional goals sooner, but reduce readmission and recurrence rates, thus lowering healthcare costs. It is imperative that clinicians come to understand the various influences that impact a person's functional health and have the tools to help their patients not only recover quickly but impact their lives in multiple ways that prevent future pain and disability.
