Physical therapists frequently encounter patients with head pain, yet differentiating migraine, tension-type, cervicogenic, TMD-related, and post-concussive headache remains a clinical challenge. Misclassification may lead to ineffective treatment, delayed referral, or incomplete management. This evidence-based course provides a structured framework for differential diagnosis of common primary and secondary headache disorders encountered in outpatient physical therapy practice. The course emphasizes clinical reasoning, examination strategies, and identification ofred flags requiring medical referrals. Current peer-reviewed literature from the past three years will be integrated to support evidence-informed physical therapy management strategies. By the conclusion of this course, participants will be equipped with a practical differential algorithm to improve diagnostic accuracy, guide treatment selection, and enhance interdisciplinary collaboration in the management of complexheadache presentations.
