Cervical spine pathology carries unique challenges in its assessment and treatment because of its varied and complex presentation. Evaluation and treatment approaches vary amongst clinicians and can be improved by incorporating the current best evidence into clinical practice. Fragmented and variable care contribute to high levels of guideline discordant management, overuse of expensive and invasive procedures, and continual cost escalations without accompanying evidence of improved outcomes. Research increasingly points to the importance of early care decisions and guideline adherence in the prognosis of patients with neck pain who seek care.
This course will provide professionals with the knowledgeneeded to properly evaluate and treat patients with symptomscommonly found in the cervical spine. Participants will Identify key elements of differential diagnoses and the clinicalexamination to improve treatment strategies. Manual Therapy techniques to immediately reduce pain will be reviewed and practiced. Participants will leave this course more confident to effectively assess and treat neck pain.
Target Audience: Physical Therapists, Physical Therapist Assistants, Athletic Trainers
