Preparation for the Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist (OCS)exam requires more than content memorization-yet many clinicians report feeling overwhelmed by the breadth of material and uncertain about how to prioritize their study. With pass rates historically ranging around 60-70%, a lack of structured preparation and application-based learning can significantly impact performance. Without a strategic approach, clinicians risk inefficient study habits, decreased confidence, and unsuccessful exam outcomes; however, targeted preparation can improve clinical reasoning, optimize study efficiency, and enhance exam success. As the expectations for advanced practice continue to rise, clinicians must shift from passive review to intentional, high- yield preparation that translates knowledge into performance.
This workshop will provide a structured, high-yield approach to OCS exam preparation through case-based learning, exam-style questions, and targeted content review.Participants will engage in hands-on clinical reasoningactivities, practice differential diagnosis strategies, and applytest-taking frameworks designed to improve accuracy andefficiency. Through discussion, guided problem-solving, and real-world application, attendees will learn how to break down complex questions and identify key exam patterns. Upon completion, clinicians will return to their practice with actionable study strategies, improved confidence, and the ability to integrate advanced orthopedic concepts into both exam performance and clinical care.
