The pelvic floor is not only one of the core muscles, it also plays a role in keeping urine, stool and gas in the body, and allowing urine, stool and gas out. People with pelvic floor dysfunction can present with symptoms of not being able to contain waste as desired and/or not being able to eliminate it effectively. Around 80% of the U.S. population suffers with some form of lower urinary tract symptoms and 42 million people in the U.S. have constipation symptoms. Therapists are working with people who suffer with these symptoms every day and should be able to discuss and educate patients on strategies to improve these and guide patients to seek additional help when necessary. Attendees of this workshop will examine some symptoms of pelvic floor dysfunction along with strategies to help patients with these symptoms improve their pelvic floor function.
Target Audience: Physical Therapists, Physical Therapist Assistants, Occupational Therapists, Occupational Therapy Assistants, Athletic Trainers

i loved the course. however, i felt that the information in second hour of the course was more rushed than the first part. i would not mind eliminating some information in the second part to get a better understanding of the material.
