Additional Information

Strength training provides numerous health benefits, such as a lower risk of heart disease and diabetes, stronger bones, reduced risk of falls, better brain health and mood, and improved self-esteem. A combination of morphological and neurological factors affects strength and thus everyday activity and performance. Strength decline as we age isn't inevitable. We can reliably evaluate it and prescribe programs for patients/clients to improve. Manual Muscle Testing and "3 sets 10" are good, but we can find other diverse, exercise solutions which expedite functional progress. Therapists need to be equipped to promote adherence to programs when our patients or clients are in pain. This course will cover each of these areas and you will leave confident that yourassessment and exercise prescription give people the best opportunity to improve.

Target Audience: Physical Therapists, Physical Therapist Assistants, Occupational Therapists, Occupational Therapy Assistants, Athletic Trainers
