Catherine Lewan

Catherine Lewan, PT, DPT, C-IAYT owned a yoga and Pilates studio prior to earning her DPT from the University of Illinois Chicago in 2010. She certified through STOTT in comprehensive mat, equipment, and rehabilitation Pilates and is a certified Yoga Therapist through the International Association of Yoga Therapists. She has completed advanced coursework in Orthopedic Manual Therapy and Pelvic Health and worked clinically as for 15 years in Chicago, where she initiated a pelvic health program in an orthopedic clinic and mentored PTs interested in developing their ortho and pelvic skillset. During this time, she developed symptoms related to hEDS and POTS, and decided to be transparent about her diagnoses. She developed a specialty in managing complex cases related to symptomatic hypermobility, as connective tissues can affect any system of the body including orthopedic, pelvic, neurologic, vasculature and autonomic systems. Her waitlist grew exponentially, and she found therapists to mentor on a holistic, biopsychosocial approach to treating chronic, under-researched and misunderstood symptoms.
