Tenika Danley

Dr. Tenika Danley, BSOT, OTR/L, MHFA is an accomplished 6th year associate professor in the Occupational Therapy Program at Faulkner University in Montgomery, AL. Danley serves as an adviser to 9 students in the entry-level doctorate program. As a professor Danley has taught courses including Neuro rehab, Ethics and Interprofessional Healthcare, Community Service and Problem-Based Learning, and Adult Physical Dysfunction. Other related courses taught include Organization and Administration, Older Adults, Contemporary Practice, Research, ANPH I&II, and Fieldwork. Before her career as a professor, she worked as a licensed occupational therapist for more than 20 years, concentrating in geriatrics, adult physical dysfunction, and aging in place. During that time, she assisted hundreds of clients in their recovery process to regain the highest level of independence possible with self-care and activities of daily living. Danley's passion for service continues through community-based projects, which include directing an annual HIV/AIDS Awareness events to assisting with program development through service with Alabama Head Injury Foundation, Auburn Food Bank, and Project Uplift. Danley's first publication "Adult Physical Dysfunction and the Occupational Therapy Process" is a textbook that was published in 2021 by Kendall Hunt and also earned a certification in Mental Health First Aid in 2022. She is a proud mother to one son and happily married.
